Lesson 7
We are commanded to keep the Ten Commandments according to the Prophets. The Statutes and Judgments are those ten laws spoken of below.
There is no eternal life in the Torah, or the Old Testament,the reward for keeping the commandments are rain when needed, good crops, and be able to over come our enemies. Below in Deut.5:3,
Deut. 5:1, And Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your ears this day, that ye may learn them, and keep, and do them.
Deut. 5:16, Honor thy father and thy mother, as YHWH hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which YHWH give you.
Deut. 5:22, These words YHWH spoke to all your congregation on the mountain from the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the obscurity, with a great voice,
and he added no more;( laws ) and he wrote them on two tables of stone, and gave them to me Deu 6:2 That thou mightest fear YHWH, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.
Deu 6:25 And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the YHWH, as he hath commanded us.
Deu 7:9 Know therefore that YHWH, he is Almighty, the faithful Almighty, which keepeth agreement and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
1Ki 8:58 That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.
Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear YHWH, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ezek. 18:20, The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
Ezek. 18:21, But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
Ezek. 18:22, All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
Ezek. 18:23, Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith YHWH: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
Ezek. 18:24, But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.
Ezek. 18:25, Yet ye say, The way of the YHWH is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?
Ezek. 18:26,When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
Ezek. 18:27, Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul a
Ezek. 18:28, Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. These scriptures in the book of Ezekiel are part of the agreement made at Mount, YHWH will protect you if you keep the laws He has commanded you to keep.
This is what we get for keeping the Ten Commandments,read carefully because it is not eternal life, but rather protection!
Lev 26:3 If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; Lev 26:4 Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
Lev 26:5 And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
Lev 26:6 And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
Lev 26:7 And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
Lev 26:8 And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.
Lev 26:9, For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful land multiply you, and establish my agreement with you.
